Pats fans bring the noise...and the flava???
Plus: Bill's angry eyes; Watch out Drew; Lambeau and meatloaf; and MNF stinkers
Patriots fans actually made some noise during their teams' 28-zip shutout victory over Tampa Bay Saturday. There must have been some good news about the Red Sox flashing on the Gillette Stadium scoreboard. …In a column in Monday's Boston Globe about the city's stepchild Patriots dreaming of post-season success, it took columnist Bob Ryan exactly four lines to mention the Sox. …. This just in: Drew Bledsoe has been sacked again. …During Sunday's broadcast of the Cowboys / Redskins game, Fox repeatedly showed replays of Dallas head coach Bill Parcells glaring at players – those who had just made mistakes on the field – as they were walking to the sideline. Punter Mat McBriar was one of those catching the eyeball treatment after a 15-yard punt. Forget the punter, Bill. How about shooting a few of those glares at the offensive linemen? Bledsoe told me to say that. …It's really sunny at Lambeau Field right now (1:20 p.m. Eastern), but it's as cold as your mother-in-law's meatloaf. It's 4 degrees, but it feels like -20. …Speaking of Lambeau, it looks the ESPN movie about the Ice Bowl is dead. More about that at another time. …Will anyone be watching Monday Night Football tonight when the Packers visit the Baltimore Ravens? What's the over/under on that game? 11? It's the penultimate Monday nighter on ABC before the program moves to ESPN for the 2006 season. The season finale is next week with J-E-T-S playing the Patriots. After a nice run, it's too bad ABC is left with such a couple of stinkers in the end. …By the way, if you are a stinker in the end, they tell me there is some over-the-counter medicine you can get to take care of that.
So long and good night and good luck.
