Quick, call Meagan about the Bus schedule

Meagan Cowher is the second leading scorer on the Princeton women’s basketball team and has helped lead her team to a 12-4 record thus far. The 6-foot-1 sophomore is one of the reasons the Tigers are in second place in the Ivy League standings. Cowher twice has been named the Ivy League’s player of the week this season, and her bio on the Princeton women’s basketball Web site says that last season she became the Tiger’s first ever Ivy League Rookie of the Year. The bio also says she is from Pittsburgh and is the daughter of William and Kaye Cowher. This season, Meagan has played… wait. She’s from Pittsburgh and her father is William Cowher? As in Bill Cowher, the Steelers’ head coach? Yep, that is Bill’s oldest daughter. Wow, you never would have known by looking at her bio. But, maybe she wants to stay out of the spotlight. Meagan, who has two games to play this weekend before going to Detroit to watch her father’s team play in Super Bowl XL, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that no one at Princeton knew who her father was for about six months after she began classes at the school. Now, she says, she’s being asked for betting tips for this Sunday’s game. “Some of my guy friends are gamblers and have asked me some questions ahead of Sunday, but it's nothing serious. It's all really lighthearted,” Meagan said in an Associated Press story. Right, Megs. That reminds me. I heard about a really good prop bet this morning. Will Jerome Bettis gain more rushing yards Sunday than Kobe Bryant scores points against the Hornets on Saturday? Interesting? I think I’ll get Meagan on the horn right now.

By the way, one of Meagan Cowher’s Princeton teammates is Shelly Slemp of Sugar Grove, Va. Slemp, a Marion Senior High School graduate, is a junior guard at Princeton.

I think Meagan should be grateful to have such a god-given talent. I'm also pround of her father, Bill Cowher for winning the Super Bowl. I'm from Pittsburgh, too by the way, i live right off the parkway in Green Tree, PA. I bet going to Detroit was fun. In fact, I'm Bill's #1 fan and I 'm a fan of Lauren and Lindsay. He signed a Super Bowl towel for me. That's great that she was Ivy League Rookie of the year. I wrote a story that features the Cowhers. It's called "The Day the Vince Lombardi Trophy was Stolen. I'm going up to training camp and giving Bill a copy. Maybe he can send one up to Meagan and Lauren then Meagan can send it to Kaye and Lindsay. My dream is to meet the whole family.

She is pretty, by the way. Please don't arrest me! So are her sisters. Bill and Kaye must be blessed to have such pretty girls.
