WSJ reveals Packers may be riding short bus to games
Green Bay Packers fans frustrated over their team's 0-4 start are probably questioning how such a tradition-rich franchise can be faring so poorly. Those Title Town faithful may need to look no further than the noodles filling of those yellow and green helmets each fall weekend. The Wall Street Journal ran a story Friday (Sept. 30) reporting the Packers have the lowest average Wonderlic score of all of the NFL's 32 squads. The Wonderlic Personnel Test is a standardized 12-minute, 50-question problem-solving exam used by the league to evaluate players. In addition, thousands of other businesses use it to measure potential employees. In Saturday's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, columnist Paul Wofley simply wrote, "The Packers are stupid. There's no other way to put it." Green Bay's average score was 19.2, and nine Packers scored below 14. The highest possible Wonderlic score is 50. From the bottom, the WSJ reports the dumbest teams in the league are the Packers, Cardinals, Chiefs, Redskins and Bengals. The Rams have the highest Wonderlic scores, followed by the Raiders (are you kidding me?), Titans, Bucs and Chargers. Perhaps the oddest statistic to come out of the WSJ story is that "packers" tend to produce one of the lowest test scores of any profession with an average of 14.69.
