The Jets would like to thank…

Perhaps folks running the New York Jets front office have forgotten the team’s mission is to win football games and ultimately compete for a Super Bowl title. The goal is to place Lombardis in the trophy case at Weeb Ewbank Hall. However, the latest news out of team headquarters tells us the team is filling up the showcase with a different sort of award. The J-E-T-S, who won just four games last season and haven’t been to a Super Bowl since a couple of years before head coach Eric Mangini was born, recently won an Emmy for their children’s program, Generation Jets. The honor, given Monday night at the 49th New York Emmy Award Show, was the second consecutive Emmy for the half animated, half live-action program. The Jets also won an Emmy last year for 24/7, a program featuring then head coach Herman Edwards. If you’re keeping count, the scoreboard for the Jets’ past two seasons reads: Emmys 3, Playoff Victories 1.

This just in… A league source is telling Naked Bootleg that the Jets are considering trading quarterback Chad Pennington for one of Alan Alda’s Emmys.
